Final Blog - A Look Back

The Digital SandpitProject Overview: I really enjoyed the physical part of this project and i think that i have learned a lot over the course of the project. Especially the making of the model. I have done wood work and metal work before but a long time ago. And it was good to get back to it but i think that my skills have got rusty.

The quartz part of the project was interesting but i felt it was limiting. Especially after working with MaxMSP and Jitter. I felt that i couldn't quite get my ideas across as easily as i wanted. But in saying that i enjoyed the quartz side of things. The instant visuals and being able to work with the final visuals right from the start.Pros:

• The physical building
• The interesting Iron sand
  
• Fun had while doing
• Instant visual gratification
  

Cons:

• Confines of Quartz
• Not organized enough (I don't think that I started early enough, to be fair. And also i dont think that i did enough tests with the iron sand)
• Electronics fragility (Very easy to break)
