Progress - Labour Day

Today i was thinking about my project and what worked and what didn't. I am going to try and make a pretty sweet documentation video that shows what my patch should have looked like. I am trying to be positive about how things went on friday. I think it was yet another failure that i will learn from. I am starting to hate the technology that my degree requires. It always fails when you want it to work and works when it doesn't matter so much. But i guess that is just something that as a digital media designer I have to deal with, so get over it Jeff and move on. Oh well stay tuned for the turbo sweet video about the project.

Progress - Performance day

OK its the morning of presentation day and all i have left to do is tighten down a few things and fill the content folders with the appropriate content. Some bad news was on Wednesday Darryl (My Deaf Guy I had Jack up To come in ) pulled out of the performance. He had his reasons so what ever. So now i am going to be the one who gives the performance as the content has now been tailored for me. So bad news i guess but what are you going to do?

Progress - Patch Final

I have been tweaking the patch and getting the multi video switcher working. So now the only things left to do is stitch the second glove together. Wire the two gloves to the arduino and the get cracking on the content that will be triggered.

Here is the final Patch:
Content: Want to trigger in the way of clips and videos while Darryl is talking / signing. So I have sent Darryl an email detailing the content and aims of what i am trying to show hopefully he will get back to me this arvo and i can start making the clips.

Progress - Max Crashing

After completely rebuilding my patch and finding a computer with both Max Help and a Working Web-cam, when i ran the patch it kept crashing. So i went back to an older version of my patch and had a look at the tracking part of it. (as this is what i think was crashing the patch). Replaced the new tracker with the old one and now the patch is working fine. So now i am finally back to where i was on friday. I have almost fully wired in the other glove and all that is left is to stitch the components to the glove and solder in the ground and power wires. I am hoping to have the patch done today 100%, with the physical side of it done tonight and 99% working tomorrow. With only testing and final tweaks done tomorrow.

Here are the images of what i changed in the patch to get it to stop crashing:

Progress - A New Patch and a Time Machine

So here is the new patch after being rebuilt. I am almost at the point i was at on Friday. So in the next hour or two i should be 95% done. I have also after friday gone about partitioning my 1TB hard drive and setting up time machine that backs up my smaller hard drive (The one with all of my uni stuff on it) on to the new partition. So this wont happen again. I guess im glad it happened now and not before or on the performance day.
